3-4 hours to charge is forever on a 32 Kw/hr battery. Not good when taking trips. It must've taken days to get to Washington.

For improved range on long distance trips, take the roof rack off. It creates much more drag then you think.

Its a shame to destroy such a beautiful classic car like this. The car as built was built with everything in mind: engine, transmission, chassis, etc. When you corrupt one thing with say, taking out the original engine and INSULTING it with a Tesla go cart battery you are really destroying the car. I hope he kept the original engine.
